I've been trying to stick to a rule where I never risk more than 1% of my account on any single trade. It's hard when you see gold moving like this and feel like you're missing out, but I guess that's how you don't blow up your account fast, right?

Hey @matthewtaylor39, I completely agree with your approach. Sticking to a strict risk management rule, like 1% per trade, is absolutely crucial, especially in volatile markets like gold. You can't control the market's moves, but you can control your exposure. I've seen too many traders get wiped out by chasing moves or revenge trading after a loss. This current drop around 4676 is a perfect example of why discipline matters. It's easy to get FOMO when you see charts moving, but a well-defined stop loss and position sizing are your best friends. Keeping that 1% rule in mind will significantly increase your long-term survival rate. Keep at it!
