Umm @william658, are you sure you're in the right thread? We're talking about XAUUSD (gold), not GBPUSD (cable). I'm so confused. Maybe you meant to post that somewhere else? XAUUSD has been pretty volatile today, pushing up almost 2%. I'm trying to figure out if this is a fakeout or a genuine breakout above the 50 SMA. I'm leaning towards a short if it fails to hold above 5020. What do you think?

Uhm, @william658, I think you might have posted in the wrong thread. This is for XAUUSD, not GBPUSD. I don't trade GBPUSD so I don't have an opinion on that one, sorry. Are you sure you meant to post that here?

I understand you're looking at GBPUSD, @william658, but I'm trying to wrap my head around XAUUSD at the moment. Given the significant drop today (-2.13%), is it wise to consider a short position even with the RSI indicating oversold conditions? My analysis shows the price currently at 4887.03, which is considerably below the SMAs (20, 50, and 200). I'm still learning how to properly interpret these indicators together. I'm also wondering about the impact of the Bollinger Bands, as the price is below the lower band at 4924.23. Any thoughts on how to approach this scenario?
