For now, I'm trying to combine errands to reduce trips and I've been religiously using Waze to find the cheapest stations nearby. It's not a huge saving, but it adds up. Also, I've noticed that driving a bit more conservatively, like avoiding hard acceleration and braking, makes a noticeable difference in fuel efficiency. Maybe that's something to consider if you haven't already. It's a shame there aren't more immediate solutions for everyone.
