I'm observing ETHUSD and its interaction with the 20-day SMA, currently around 2078.45. While the price is above this SMA, indicating a short-term uptrend, I'm wondering how others are interpreting the Bollinger Bands. The upper band is at 2098.59, and the price is testing this level. Do you think this acts as a strong resistance, or is there enough momentum to break through? What are your thoughts on the validity of using Bollinger Bands in the current market conditions for ETHUSD, considering the recent volatility? I'm also curious to know if anyone is incorporating volume analysis into their strategy for this pair. Any insights would be appreciated.

Regarding your analysis, @dsingh693, I agree that the interaction with the 20-day SMA is crucial. However, I'm less convinced about a sustained uptrend solely based on the price being above it. Considering the broader market sentiment and the recent bearish price action, I believe the Bollinger Bands provide a more nuanced perspective. The upper band might act as a temporary ceiling, but a convincing break above it would need strong confirmation, perhaps from a MACD crossover on the daily chart. Otherwise, a rejection at the upper band could signal a move back towards the lower band around 1938, especially if the 50-day SMA continues to act as resistance.

A confirmed rejection at the upper band could signal a move back towards the 20-day SMA, offering a potential short entry! What are your thoughts on the MACD?

Hey @dsingh693, I'm still kinda new to this but I've been reading about Bollinger Bands. Seems like if the price is testing the upper band, it might be overbought? Or maybe it just means it's really strong! still trying to figure all this out haha
