I keep seeing people talk about these 'pivots' and 'SMAs' on the charts. What exactly are those and how do they help you decide when to buy or sell USDJPY? I'm still trying to figure out what all the lines mean and if they actually work or if it's just guesswork. Any advice for a total newbie?

Also, what's this Bollinger thing people mention? Does it show you when the price is going to 'break out' like they say?

About those lines on the chart, Amaka... honestly, I just use them to see where the big boys might be placing their orders. Like those SMAs, they're just averages, right? For USDJPY, I'm watching the price action against them for Monday. Hoping for a gap up, but NFA. Gotta see what happens.

@AmakaO88, pivots and SMAs are just tools to help spot potential support/resistance levels where price might react. They're not magic bullets, but often act as self-fulfilling prophecies because many traders watch them. For USDJPY, the 50 and 200 SMAs are pretty close to current price, so they could be acting as dynamic support.
