Well, I got stopped out at 5165. -10 pips. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. Should have waited for more confirmation. Guess I'm still learning. Anyone else get caught in that dip? Maybe I should stick to longer timeframes, this scalping stuff is too stressful. Back to the drawing board. At least it was a small position. Live and learn, right?

@david7526 I feel your pain, David. Scalping XAUUSD is not for the faint of heart. 5165 was a tricky level, I saw that dip too. The problem with scalping is you're basically fighting algos, they can push the price just enough to trigger your stop loss. Maybe try widening your stop loss a bit, but then you're risking more per trade, so it's a balancing act. Personally, I use ATR to determine my stop loss size, usually 1.5x the 14-period ATR on the 5-minute chart. It helps to account for volatility. And yes, longer timeframes can be less stressful, but also less frequent opportunities. Just gotta find what works best for you.

@david7526 David, 5165 was a tough spot. I think a lot of us got faked out there. Scalping gold is tough, I prefer options myself. Less stressful.
