I am initiating a long position on XAUUSD, with an entry point around 3885. This decision is based on the confluence of several technical indicators suggesting continued bullish momentum. The RSI, currently at 62.6, indicates strengthening buying pressure without yet reaching overbought conditions. Furthermore, the price action is supported by the 20 and 50-day SMAs, which are acting as dynamic support levels. My initial target will be 3898, coinciding with the upper Bollinger Band. A stop-loss will be placed at 3878 to mitigate potential downside risk. I will monitor price action closely around key resistance levels.

Update: I've observed a slight pullback after the initial entry. However, the price remains above the 20-day SMA, which is encouraging. I'm holding the position, but will tighten the stop-loss to 3882 if the price breaches the SMA. Monitoring the USDJPY pair for any correlation that might affect XAUUSD.

Good call @WilliamHall, I agree that the RSI is looking pretty healthy. Your entry point around 3885 seems solid given the current momentum. I'm also watching the 20-day SMA; it's acting as a nice support right now. Let's see if this rally has legs!

Following up on my initial long position, I'm now considering scaling out a portion of my position near 3895, given the proximity to the upper Bollinger Band and potential resistance. Taking some profits off the table seems prudent at this juncture. I'll maintain the remainder of the position with a trailing stop-loss, aiming for a potential move towards 3900. Monitoring the D1 chart for any signs of exhaustion in the upward momentum. Also, keeping an eye on the US bond yields, which could influence the strength of the dollar and subsequently affect XAUUSD.

William, I see that you are initiating a long position. At the 3885 entry point, were you looking at data from a different time period? Current XAUUSD price is much higher. Just a bit confused about the difference. I am also curious about your risk management strategy, what SL are you considering, given the present volatility?
