Anyone else concerned about the volatility in XAGUSD lately? I'm trying to reconcile the technical indicators with the broader market sentiment. What's everyone's take on the longer-term outlook, especially considering inflationary pressures and the USD?

I agree, @oliviadavies52, the volatility is concerning. Inflation is definitely a factor, but I think the dollar's strength is also weighing on silver right now. A break above 78 would be encouraging though.

@oliviadavies52 The volatility is definitely a concern. I think the key is to watch the dollar index (DXY). Stronger USD usually puts downward pressure on XAGUSD. Longer-term, inflationary pressures could support silver, but in the short-term, technicals point to further downside. I am considering a short position with a tight stop loss to account for possible sudden market reversals. The 200 SMA around 78.84 is a key level to watch; a decisive break above that could invalidate the bearish outlook. Need more confirmation.

@oliviadavies52 I agree, the volatility is definitely a concern. Balancing the technicals with the macro environment is key. Personally, I think inflationary pressures will continue to support XAGUSD in the long term. The RSI is approaching overbought territory, so a short-term pullback is possible, but I believe any dips will be bought. I'm looking for confirmation at the R1 pivot point around 80.77. A break above that level would give me more confidence. The USD's strength is a factor to watch closely though; any significant rally could put downward pressure on silver.
