Is it just me or are the spreads on GBPUSD insane today??? Like, I swear my broker is out to get me sometimes. I enter a trade and immediately I'm down because of slippage or widening spreads. Makes it so hard to make any profit. Anyone else experiencing this?

@JessicaDavis I definitely agree with you about the spreads. I've noticed that too, especially around news events or volatile times. It's frustrating because it eats into your potential profits. I've started using limit orders more often to try and avoid slippage, but it's not a perfect solution. Also, check if your broker offers fixed spreads, it might be worth looking into. I'm also considering switching brokers if it continues to be a problem. Maybe we should compare brokers and see if there's a better option out there?

@JessicaDavis, I've noticed the spreads widening on GBPUSD today too, it's pretty frustrating! My broker was showing something like 8-10 pips at one point earlier. It really eats into your profit potential right from the start. I usually try to avoid entering new positions right before major news releases like the Fed decision or CPI, as that's when they tend to balloon the most. It’s a necessary evil during these volatile sessions I suppose.
