Alright, so GBPUSD is looking a bit bearish at the moment, right? I'm thinking of trying a small short position around the 1.3610 level, but honestly, I'm still learning the ropes. Does anyone have any advice for setting a good stop-loss in this kind of market? Don't want to get burned too badly, haha.

Actually, maybe I'll hold a little longer. The 20 SMA is still above, so there might be some resistance there. Fingers crossed! Trading is truly a rollercoaster.

Update: I'm seeing it bounce a bit near 1.3605 now. Maybe I jumped the gun? Should've waited for a clearer signal. Patience is a virtue, as they say!

@GYoung44 Consider ATR for stop-loss placement; typically, 1.5-2x ATR can help avoid premature stops. Also, monitor economic data releases that could impact GBPUSD.

@GYoung44, I'd suggest looking at the 200-day moving average for a longer-term stop-loss. It's currently around 1.36363.

Grace, regarding your short position, a good rule of thumb for stop-loss placement is to consider recent price volatility. Perhaps look at the ATR indicator on the H4 chart to get an idea, and place your stop-loss slightly above a recent swing high. Better safe than sorry!

Hi @GYoung44, for stop-loss, maybe try looking at the recent swing lows on a smaller timeframe chart like H1. It can give you a tighter stop loss. Good luck! 👍

Hi @GYoung44, I'd say be extra careful shorting GBPUSD right now! A stop-loss is super important, especially with the volatility we've been seeing. Maybe place it just above R1 pivot (around 1.3495)? That gives it a bit of breathing room. Also, consider your position size – keep it small while you're still learning. 😉 Remember, it's all about managing risk! Good luck and don't be afraid to ask for more advice. 😊
