I always set my stop loss way before entering any trade. No matter how good a setup looks, if my risk is too high I just don't take it. Better to miss a trade than to get completely rekt.

Osas, man, that sounds like you're trying to leave money on the table. Setting stop losses way before? That's how you get left behind. XAGUSD is moving wild right now, RSI is way up there, but you gotta jump in when the opportunity is hot. I just loaded up another 100x on this pop near 82.50. If it dips, fine, I'll just add more. You gotta be bold to make it big. Missing trades because of 'risk' is the real way to get rekt.

Like, I like to have my stop defined, but setting it 'way before' might mean you miss out on some good moves. Sometimes, you just gotta trust the setup and accept a little risk, especially when XAGUSD is making such big swings. If the chart looks solid, I’ll take the trade.
Hey @osasigbinosa40, I hear you on the risk management side, it's absolutely crucial. I tend to do something similar, setting my stops pretty definitively before entering. My take on it is that while you might 'miss' a few pips here and there by having your stop set a bit wider than absolutely necessary, it prevents those gut-wrenching moments when the market whipsaws and takes you out prematurely. For XAGUSD especially, it's been so volatile lately, setting stops closer could mean getting stopped out on just noise. I prefer to give my trades a bit more room to breathe, assuming the risk-reward is still favourable. If the setup isn't there with that margin, then I agree, it's better to sit out. The key is finding that balance where you're protected but not overly conservative.
