Moving my stop to breakeven is always a trap. It's like I'm subconsciously telling the market, 'Okay, you got me on the entry, now just nudge it a bit further and take me out.' I did it on a swing short at 159.15 this week, expecting that 158.80 support to give way based on the RSI divergence. It held for about an hour, I thought, 'Yes! Risk-free trade!' Then, of course, the news or some algorithm kicked in, and it shot up another 50 pips. Took me out at breakeven, only for it to reverse AGAIN an hour later. It's infuriating how predictable this market is in its unpredictability. They say it's about risk management, but sometimes it feels like it's about just getting stopped out repeatedly.
