I'm curious how others are handling stop-loss placement with this XAUUSD rally. With the volatility, a tight stop could easily get triggered by noise, but a wide stop exposes you to significant drawdown if things reverse. I've been experimenting with ATR-based stops, but I'm not entirely sold on the results. Has anyone had success using specific levels (e.g., previous day's low, Fibonacci retracements) as stop-loss triggers? Or do you adjust your position size to compensate for a wider stop? I'm trying to refine my risk management strategy and any insights would be appreciated. It's always a balancing act, isn't it?

@danieldavis55, I've been struggling with stop-loss placement on XAUUSD too! It's definitely a tough balance. I'm still new to this, but I've read about using the Bollinger Bands to set stops. The lower band could be a good place for a stop-loss, but I'm worried about false breakouts triggering it. Maybe ATR is the way to go, like you said. Have you tried adjusting the ATR multiplier to see if that helps filter out some of the noise? I'm still trying to figure out the best approach. So many things to consider!

@danieldavis55 That's a good point about stop-loss placement. I've had my stops triggered by random spikes before, and it's super frustrating. I'm also trying to figure out the best strategy. What's ATR-based stops? I'm still learning all the terms. I've been using fixed percentage stops, like 1% of my account balance, but maybe that's too simple? I'm thinking about experimenting with wider stops, but I'm afraid of losing too much if the trade goes south. Maybe I should just stick to paper trading until I figure this out better, lol.

@danieldavis55 I feel your pain with the stop losses. I'm new to this but had my SL hit a few times on fakeouts. Maybe ATR is the way to go, I'll look into it. Thnx
