When USDJPY is trading sideways like this, I like to scale into positions. If I'm looking to go long, I'll enter a small position at the lower Bollinger band, then add more if it breaks above the 50 SMA, and finally add a third if it clears the daily pivot. Tight stops on each layer, of course. It helps manage risk and average into a move if one finally develops.
