I learned a hard lesson with USDJPY last week. I was trying to scalp, saw a quick dip to around 158.20 and jumped in thinking it was a bounce play. I set my SL quite tight, but the volatility during that morning session just wiped me out instantly. Then, it actually did bounce, but I missed it because I was already out. It showed me that even if you think you see a pattern, especially with this pair during the London/NY overlap, you need to give trades room to breathe. My risk management was too rigid for the market conditions. I'm definitely sizing up my next entries and giving them more space, especially with the geopolitical stuff adding extra noise.
