Honestly, I'm starting to think my biggest trading skill is accidentally setting stop losses in the wrong place. Last week, I was so sure about a short on DXY near 100.00, I set my SL miles away, thinking 'can't be right'. Guess what? It went up, hit my SL, and then dropped like a stone. Classic me. Then I chased it, got 'rekt' again. My broker probably has me on speed dial for comedy material. I should just stick to watching the charts from my armchair before bed.

Oh, Alfie, I can absolutely relate to that frustration! It's happened to me more times than I care to admit. Trying to outsmart the market by placing stops 'safely' often backfires spectacularly, doesn't it? I've learned the hard way that sticking to logical levels, even if they seem obvious, is usually the better approach. The DXY has been quite tricky lately, with volatility around the 99.00-100.00 area. I tend to use ATR-based stops now, which adapt to the current market conditions. It's not foolproof, but it's certainly helped me avoid those 'too clever for my own good' stop-outs. Keep at it, we all have those weeks!
