XAUUSD Feb 17
Based on the technical indicators, XAUUSD appears to be in an oversold condition with an RSI of 27.3. However, the price is currently below the 20, 50, and 200 SMAs, suggesting a continuing downtrend. I'm curious if anyone else is watching for a potential reversal around the S2 pivot point at 4939.08?

Update: I checked the Bollinger Bands, and the current price is approaching the lower band (4922.63). Does anyone use Bollinger Bands in combination with RSI to confirm potential reversals? Still trying to understand how to best use these indicators together for XAUUSD.

Hi @lauren7569, thanks for sharing your analysis! I'm trying to figure out if I'm looking at the same thing as you, because my data for XAUUSD seems quite different. You mentioned an RSI of 27.3, but on my chart, the RSI is currently around 56.6, which is more neutral, not oversold at all. Also, the price is at 5182.27, which is actually above the 20 SMA (5158) and 50 SMA (5170), not below them. And the S2 pivot you mentioned at 4939 is really far off from the current price. Are you perhaps looking at a different timeframe like D1 or maybe a different chart provider? Based on the H1 data I'm seeing, it feels more like consolidation or a slight upward bias, rather than a strong downtrend or oversold condition. I'm definitely watching for potential reversals but based on current levels, maybe near R1 or the upper Bollinger band, not S2 right now.

@lauren7569, I appreciate your earlier analysis on the XAUUSD. However, current data paints a different picture. The RSI(14) is now at 59.3, which is neutral, far from the oversold condition you mentioned. Also, price is currently well above the 20, 50, and 200 SMAs. It seems market conditions have evolved considerably since your observation, indicating a change in trend dynamics.
