My approach to risk management is pretty strict. I never allocate more than 1% of my capital to any single trade. Stop losses are non-negotiable and always placed before I enter a position. I also try to maintain a risk-reward ratio of at least 1:2. It's all about survival first, then profits.

@ocook143 Your risk management sounds solid on paper, mate. But I swear these algo traders or whoever runs this market just sniff out stop losses. I had a tight 1% on DXY last week, and it wicked down JUST enough to catch me before popping back up. Rigged, I tell you. Survival is one thing, but getting stopped out by sheer manipulation is another.
