It's definitely not like the thin Sydney session I'm used to, that's for sure. I saw it break that 4550 level and thought 'uh oh, here we go'. It's definitely unusual to see such strength during the Sydney open, but the news cycle has been so intense lately, especially with oil spiking. That surge in crude is making everyone nervous about inflation and what central banks might do. I think that’s a big part of the driver behind gold's recent push higher.
