Well, Friday's close on USDJPY was a bit of a relief, finally dipping below that 159.00 handle. I'm watching the S2 pivot around 158.014 closely for Monday. If we see a gap down on open, that could be an interesting spot to consider a very careful long position, especially if the RSI starts climbing out of oversold territory. Need to see how the geopolitical news out of the Middle East shakes out too, that Iran development could still cause some volatility even for forex.

Actually, thinking more about the weekend, that slight dip on Friday for USDJPY might be more significant than it looks. It broke below the 50-day SMA which has been acting as resistance for a while now. The fact that it closed below that level, even slightly, feels like a bearish signal heading into next week. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a retest of that 158.00 area, maybe even lower if momentum picks up. The US retail sales data on Tuesday will be key – if that comes in weak, it could put further pressure on the dollar, which would be great for my short thesis on JPY. Just gotta be patient and wait for confirmation, no rush here.
