Looking at XAUUSD here, the price action around 4640 seems to be holding for now. The 50-period SMA is still above the current price on the H4 chart, which is a bearish signal. I'm expecting a retest of the 200 SMA around 4580 if we can't break above 4650 soon. The geopolitical news is definitely adding noise, but technically, it's looking heavy.

Actually, thinking more about it, if this geopolitical tension keeps escalating, it might force gold higher regardless of the technicals. Traders could be flocking to it as a safe haven, pushing it up. So, while the SMAs are bearish, keep an eye on the news flow. Maybe a break above 4670 invalidates the current bearish view.

Hey @nightowl507, I see your point about the 50 SMA. But honestly, with all this geopolitical noise and the dollar weakening a bit, I think gold might just ignore the technicals and push higher as a safe haven. I'm watching it too.

Yeah @nightowl507, the geopolitical stuff is wild. That news about Iran talking could really push gold up. But this FVG around 4640 you mentioned... if it doesn't hold, then yeah, the 50 SMA bearish signal on H4 might kick in. Still feels like manipulation though, they'll play games.
