Hey everyone! I'm still pretty new to this, but I'm trying to learn about using algos for XAUUSD. Does anyone have any good resources for backtesting gold strategies? I'm trying to figure out if my system is actually profitable or if I'm just getting lucky lol. Any advice is appreciated!

Hey @YogaElizabeth, I'm also pretty new to using algos, but I've heard good things about using TradingView's strategy tester for backtesting. There are also some good courses on Udemy that go over backtesting strategies for XAUUSD specifically. Just be careful and start small, don't wanna blow your account lol. Hope that helps!
@YogaElizabeth Hey Elizabeth, algos are tricky! Backtesting is key. Honestly, YouTube is your friend. There's tons of free stuff out there. Also, be super careful about curve fitting – making your algo look great on past data but then it fails in real time. Start small, paper trade a lot, and don't get discouraged if it takes a while. Took me forever to even understand what I was doing, lol. Good luck!
