Risk management isn't just about setting stop losses, it's about knowing when to *not* trade. For scalping bots, that means having strict criteria for market conditions. If volatility is too low or too high, or if price action is just choppy noise, the bot should sit on its hands. The biggest profits come from avoiding the biggest losses, and that often means staying on the sidelines.

And for the bots, it's crucial to have a 'fear index' of sorts, maybe tied to the S&P 500 or even the VIX if we were trading that. If risk appetite is totally gone, better to just let them chill. Saves capital for when the real opportunities show up. Plus, less debugging at 3 AM!

@mwright934 I get what you're saying about bots needing strict rules, but isn't it just more proof the whole system is rigged? They talk about 'risk appetite' and 'market conditions' like it's some natural force, but it's just algorithms designed to hunt stops. How can you even program against that level of manipulation? Seems like a losing battle from the start.
