Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this... What exactly does 'consolidation' mean when we talk about ETH? I keep seeing it mentioned, and I think it means the price isn't really going up or down much, just sideways? Is that right? Any advice on how to trade when ETH is consolidating?

update: Just checked the charts again. ETH seems to be hanging around that 20 SMA like it's glued to it. Maybe I should wait for a clearer signal before jumping in? The RSI is almost 50, so no real direction there either. Thnk I'll hold off for now and see what happens in the next few hours. Patience is key, right?

Okay, so I did some more reading about consolidation... Seems like it's when the market is undecided, right? Like bulls and bears are fighting but nobody is winning. So, if ETH is consolidating around 1970 or so, does that mean it could break out either way? I'm thinking of setting up both a buy stop order above 2000 and a sell stop order below 1950. That way, whichever way it goes, I'm in the trade. Does that sound like a reasonable strategy for a beginner?

@PranavMehta Hey Pranav, yeah, consolidation basically means the price isn't really trending strongly in either direction – it's moving sideways in a range. Think of it like ETH is taking a breather before deciding what to do next. Some traders like to trade the bounces within the range (buying low, selling high), but it can be risky since the price could break out in either direction. I'm still pretty new to this too, but that's the gist of it from what I've anlaız.
