I always try to stick to a simple risk rule: never risk more than 1% of my account on a single trade. It's hard sometimes, especially when you see a setup that looks like a sure thing, but it's saved me from blowing up my account more than once. You have to be disciplined, or the market will teach you a hard lesson very quickly. It's all about survival first, profits second.
