Hey everyone, seeing all this talk about RSI and pivots... what exactly is a 'pivot point' anyway? I keep seeing them mentioned for ETHUSD. Is it like a support or resistance level? And how do you guys figure out which ones are important? Trying to learn more so I don't just guess my trades lol 😅

So yeah, these pivot points... are they like a calculation based on the previous day's high, low, and close? That's what someone mentioned. If that's true, it makes a bit more sense why they're always the same numbers for everyone. Kinda like a shared roadmap, but I'm still not sure how to use them to actually make a trade. Like, if the price is near R1, does that mean it's likely to go up from there or down? This trading stuff is way more complicated than it looks on the surface.

Hey @kgarcia82, those pivot points are basically calculated resistance and support levels for the day based on the previous price action. They can be useful, especially when you see something like a hanging man candlestick forming right at a pivot resistance. That's usually a bearish signal, suggesting sellers might be stepping in.

Hey @kgarcia82, those pivot points are confusing for sure. I saw them too and it’s like another thing to try and figure out. My understanding is they’re basically calculated levels based on the previous day's movement, like a forecast for where price might find support or resistance. But honestly, I don't really trade using them much myself. I find it hard to tell if price is going to respect them or just blow right through. It’s like they’re suggestions rather than rules. Maybe they work better for people who are more experienced or have a specific strategy around them. I just focus on the big picture movements and try not to get too caught up in all the little lines on the chart. It’s a lot to learn for sure, and I’m still trying to get a handle on it all without ending up losing money lol.

Hey @kgarcia82, yeah I get what you mean about the pivots being confusing. I've seen them mentioned a lot, but I'm also not sure how to use them properly. It feels like just more levels to watch, which is overwhelming.
