Watching this XAUUSD rally in the Asian session, it feels a bit too smooth. This could be a classic bull trap. We've seen these kinds of moves before where it pumps up just enough to lure people in before a sharp reversal. Always pays to be skeptical when it looks this easy.

And to add to that, the recent news about potential inflation spikes in Japan might be giving gold a temporary boost, but I'm not convinced it's sustainable. Remember that other headline about gold struggling near $4,550 just a day or two ago? Markets can be fickle. If this rally falters around the 4630-4640 resistance, I'll be looking for signs of weakness to go short. It's just that nagging feeling that this isn't a genuine breakout yet. I'd rather miss a little upward movement than get caught on the wrong side of a sudden dump.
