I'm observing ETHUSD consolidating near the R1 pivot at 1978.55. The RSI is hovering around 52, indicating a neutral bias, but I'm hesitant to commit to a direction. What are others' thoughts on potential breakout scenarios or possible retracement levels to watch for?
Update: I'm also considering the 50-period SMA around 2007.68 as a potential resistance level if ETHUSD continues upward. A break above that could signal further bullish momentum. Conversely, failure to hold above the pivot could lead to a test of S1 at 1964.69. Keeping stops tight regardless.

@sgonzalez235, your observation about consolidation near the R1 pivot is spot on. Given the current bearish trend, a breakout above R1 seems less probable in the short term. A retracement towards the S1 level at 1963.66 might be a more realistic scenario, especially if the RSI remains in oversold territory. I'm looking at shorting opportunities if we see a weak retest of the 1980 level.
