Considering a potential short position on XAUUSD if it fails to break above the R1 pivot point at 4927.36. The 50-day SMA at 4938.58 could act as significant resistance. A tight stop-loss above that level would be prudent, targeting a move back towards the 20-day SMA around 4894.87. However, the neutral RSI suggests caution is warranted.

@archiewhite Your proposed short position at the R1 pivot seems reasonable, given the potential resistance at the 50-day SMA. However, with the escalating tensions in the Middle East, gold could experience a significant safe-haven bid.
