I'm trying to build an automated system for GBPUSD, and I'm having trouble backtesting effectively. What timeframe provides the most reliable data for backtesting a mean reversion strategy? I've primarily been using H1 data, but the results seem inconsistent. Any suggestions on optimal parameter settings?

Update: I've also been considering incorporating the RSI indicator to identify potential overbought and oversold conditions. Has anyone had success using RSI in conjunction with Bollinger Bands for GBPUSD on shorter timeframes like M15 or M30? I'm curious about optimal RSI thresholds.
