Considering the current consolidation around the 77.90 level, a potential long position in XAGUSD could be considered if it convincingly breaches the R1 pivot at 78.97. However, a tight stop-loss order should be placed just below the pivot point at 77.46 to mitigate potential downside risk. The RSI is currently neutral, so confirmation from other indicators would be prudent.

Good call on the tight stop, @SophieC81. XAGUSD can fake you out quick. I'd be waiting for confirmation above 79 before jumping in long myself.

However, I'd be cautious about the overall bearish trend we've seen in XAGUSD recently. The RSI is still below 50, indicating potential weakness. I'd want to see a stronger confirmation, perhaps a break above the 50-day SMA around 79.77, before committing to a long position. Just my two cents.

@SophieC81 That's a good point about the stop loss placement! I'm still learning about pivot points, but that makes sense to put it just below. I think I'll try that next time.
