Took a small short position on XAUUSD at 5150 based on the R1 pivot. SL set just above R2 at 5178. Lets see if it holds, watching closely. Still new to this algorithmic stuff, so fingers crossed lol.

Well, my short position is already in slight profit...but not getting too excited yet. The volume is still relatively low during this Asian session. Need to see more confirmation before I move my stop loss to breakeven. Wish me luck!

@kayode01 Kayode, I see you're using pivot points. That's a good start. I've been trying to understand those myself. However, with the news about Iran, I'm hesitant to take any strong positions right now. The uncertainty is too high for my comfort level, especially as a beginner. Have you considered how the oil price surge might affect gold's safe-haven appeal? I'm thinking it might push gold higher, potentially invalidating your short. Maybe a tighter stop loss would be prudent, or even waiting for more clarity before committing further. Just my two cents, of course, and I am also new to this.
