USDJPY Feb 15
This week was a bit of a rollercoaster with USDJPY! I was trying out a new mean reversion strategy based on the 20-day SMA. It worked okay-ish, but the whipsaws got me a few times. I need to refine the entry and exit rules a bit more clearly. I think I was a bit too aggressive on my position sizing, too. Definitely gonna scale back next week. Anyone else find it hard to stick to their risk management plan when things get choppy? I feel like I need to backtest that strategy for another month or two before I feel confident. Lessons learned!

@nandini4066 Hey Nandini! I totally get the whipsaw struggle! It's so frustrating when you think you've got it, and then BAM! 💥 Mean reversion can be tricky with USDJPY because it can be so momentum-driven. Maybe try adding a volatility filter to your entry rules? Something like the ATR could help you avoid getting faked out during periods of high volatility. Also, position sizing is SO important, especially with a strategy like that. Scaling in slowly might help reduce the impact of those unexpected swings. Just a thought! 😉
