I am considering a long position on USDJPY based on the potential for further Yen weakness. The Bank of Japan's continued dovish stance contrasts sharply with the Federal Reserve's hawkish approach, creating a fundamental divergence that could drive the pair higher. Technically, I'm looking for a break above the recent high around 153.00 as confirmation of bullish momentum. I plan to implement a stop-loss order just below the 152.50 level to manage risk. It's important to monitor upcoming economic data releases from both countries, as these could significantly impact the currency pair's trajectory. What are others seeing in terms of fundamental drivers?

Update: Regarding my earlier post about a long position, I'm closely watching the D1 chart for a potential bullish engulfing pattern to form. This could signal a strong reversal and further validate the long setup. Additionally, I'm considering adding to my position if the price breaks above 153.20 with strong volume. However, I am also aware of the risk of a potential pullback towards the 152.00 level, which could trigger my stop-loss. It's crucial to remain flexible and adjust the strategy based on the evolving market conditions. I am also monitoring the 200-day moving average for confluence.

@christopher2177 BOJ dovish stance is definitely a factor. But the market seems to be pricing that in already, imo. I'm not convinced it's enough to drive USDJPY much higher. Worth watching though!

I like your fundamental take, @christopher2177. The BOJ/Fed divergence is definitely a strong driver for USDJPY. I'm also looking at a long position, but I'm a bit cautious about the current volatility. Maybe scaling in would be a smart move?

Hey @christopher2177, that's an interesting analysis! I'm still pretty new to this, but the BOJ vs Fed thing makes sense. I'm just a little nervous about going long when it's so choppy. Do you have a specific entry point in mind? I'm trying to learn more about setting stop losses too.

@christopher2177 That makes sense. The BOJ's stance is definitely something to watch. I'm still pretty new to this, but that divergence you're talking about sounds like it could really push USDJPY up. I'm just a bit worried about getting in too early. What kind of entry point are you looking at, and how are you managing your risk with this one? SL placement is always tricky for me, especially with how volatile it's been. Thnk i need more practice on risk management.
