USDJPY Feb 15
I'm currently holding a small long position on USDJPY that I opened mid-week. It's not huge, but I'm a bit unsure about leaving it open over the weekend, especially with everything going on globally. I'm debating whether to close it out now and just take a small profit, or risk it and see what happens on Monday.

I've read about people using guaranteed stop-loss orders to protect against gap risk, but I haven't tried that before. Does anyone have experience with those? Are they worth it, or are they just another way for brokers to make money? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @sophie90, I understand your hesitation about holding over the weekend. With USDJPY so flat, and global uncertainty high, it's always a gamble! If your profit is decent and you're uncomfortable with the risk, closing out might be the best option for peace of mind. Alternatively, you could move your stop loss closer to your entry price to protect your capital in case of a gap against you on Monday. It depends on your risk tolerance!

@sophie90, I understand your concern about holding over the weekend. Leaving positions open always carries risk of a gap opening. Since your position is small and profitable, you could consider closing it to secure those profits. Alternatively, if you're comfortable with the risk, you could set a tight stop-loss just below your entry point to protect your capital in case of an adverse move. It really comes down to your risk tolerance and trading plan. Personally, I'd probably close it and enjoy the weekend stress-free, knowing I secured a win. Better safe than sorry.
