For me, risk management is all about survival first, profits second. I always set my stop loss before I even enter a trade, no exceptions. I also try to keep my position sizing small enough that a single bad trade won't wipe out more than 1-2% of my capital. It's not glamorous, but it keeps me in the game long enough to catch the big moves. NFA, of course.
