Watching that YouTube breakdown on the XAUUSD weekly chart. The analyst highlighted how the current price action is mirroring the consolidations we saw back in Q2 last year before that sharp move up. He's looking for a retest of the 200-day SMA around 4747 as a potential resistance area. Interesting to see if that plays out or if the current bearish momentum carries it lower. Need to keep an eye on the RSI divergence signals.

The thing is, that weekly chart pattern the analyst showed has a classic three-wave structure in the ABC correction. If we're in wave C now, it could extend quite a bit lower. The current 4580 level is near the S2 pivot point, which might offer some temporary respite, but the sentiment is clearly bearish given the RSI is deep in oversold territory. I'd be looking for any signs of a failed breakdown below 4550 before considering any long positions. The oil price surge is also a major factor here, feeding those inflation fears, which often pressures gold in the short-term despite its safe-haven status. Gotta stay patient.
