Hey everyone, I'm still pretty new to this, but I'm trying to learn more about swing trading GBPUSD. With the RSI so low, around 35, does that mean it's definitely going to keep going down? Or is there a chance it could bounce back up soon? Just trying to get a better handle on how to read these signals. Thx!

Update: I was looking at the charts again, and it seems like GBPUSD has been in a downtrend for a bit now. The SMA 20 is under the 50, and the 200 too. I'm thinking maybe a small short position could be worth a try? But I'm still nervous about it. What do you guys think?

Hi @EllaBaker, good question about the RSI! A low RSI, like the 41.8 we're seeing now, can suggest that GBPUSD is oversold, but it doesn't guarantee an immediate bounce. It's more of an indication that a reversal *could* be coming. I also use Simple Moving Averages to help confirm potential trend changes. Notice how the 20 SMA is below the 50 SMA, suggesting a possible downtrend. Combining RSI with SMA analysis can give you a better picture. Keep learning and practicing!
