XAUUSD Feb 13
I'm relatively new to this, but XAUUSD seems to be showing some positive signs. The price is above the 20 and 50 SMAs, which I understand is generally a good thing. However, I'm also seeing that the price is approaching the first resistance pivot point around 5038. I am wondering if this level will hold or if it will break through. It makes me nervous to enter a position right now.

Update: I'm also seeing that the RSI is above 60, which could mean it's getting overbought? I'm hesitant to make any moves until I see a clearer signal. I think I will stay out for now.

While being above the 20 and 50 SMAs often signals bullish sentiment, in a neutral trend like XAUUSD is currently experiencing, these can sometimes act as dynamic resistance or support zones rather than clear directional indicators. The price is actually closer to the central pivot at 5175, with R1 around 5187. I'd be cautious about reading too much into a single resistance level without considering broader market structure. Scalping this range requires tight risk management, as false breakouts are quite common when liquidity is thin. Always look at the confluence of indicators, not just isolated signals, especially when the RSI is hovering right around 50.2, indicating market equilibrium rather than strong momentum.
