Looking at XAUUSD, I'm trying to understand the significance of the Bollinger Bands right now. The upper band is around 5202.54 and the lower band is 5158.15. Does the current price near the middle band suggest consolidation, or is it a precursor to a breakout? Any insights on how to interpret this?

Update: I've noticed that the 20 SMA (5180.34) is slightly above the 50 SMA (5177.54). Does this potentially signal a short-term bullish trend for XAUUSD? I'm still hesitant given the neutral RSI, but the SMA crossover seems noteworthy. Thoughts?

To add to my previous question about the Bollinger Bands, I'm also considering the RSI. With a current RSI(14) of 47.3, it's neither overbought nor oversold. This makes it harder to determine a clear direction. I'm wondering if waiting for a more decisive RSI signal, perhaps above 60 or below 40, would be a more prudent approach before making any trading decisions on XAUUSD. What are your thoughts on using RSI in conjunction with Bollinger Bands?
