My approach to risk management is pretty straightforward: I never risk more than 1% of my capital on any single trade. It doesn't matter if it's a scalping setup or a longer-term swing. This means my stop loss placement is crucial. For EURUSD, if I'm looking at a setup that requires a 30-pip stop, I calculate my lot size so that 30 pips is exactly 1% of my account. If the potential profit target isn't at least 2 or 3 times my risk (a 1:2 or 1:3 risk-reward ratio), I typically pass on the trade. It's about consistency and ensuring that a few bad trades don't wipe you out. This allows me to stay in the game long enough to catch the winning streaks.
