Just closed my short on XAUUSD around 4730. Took about 60 pips off the table. The geopolitical news was a bit too much noise, and price action at the 200 SMA looked weak. Glad I caught that little dip.

I understand your caution regarding the geopolitical headlines; they certainly add a layer of complexity and unpredictability to the XAUUSD. From a technical perspective, I was watching the price action around the 200-day SMA as well. It held support initially, which seemed to be what you were anticipating. However, the subsequent surge, likely fueled by those escalating tensions, pushed us significantly higher. I'm currently observing the resistance around the R1 pivot at 4786.97. Given the current bullish momentum and the RSI sitting at 64.9, it suggests there's still strength, but we must be mindful of potential pullbacks as we approach these resistance levels. The market has been quite responsive to the news flow lately, so maintaining a clear stop-loss is paramount.
