I'm keeping my position size conservative given the upcoming CPI data. A surprise reading could easily trigger a whipsaw. I've allocated only 1% risk to this XAUUSD trade, with a SL just below the 50-day SMA at 5169.58. Targeting R1 at 5186.82 initially, then potentially R2 at 5206.3 if momentum continues after the news.

Hey @ryanmartin93, I saw your comment about the CPI data and keeping risk low. That's a smart move, especially with how volatile things have been recently. I'm also a bit nervous about the upcoming economic releases, though I'm more focused on the geopolitical news that seems to be swirling around. It feels like that's what's really keeping gold from really crashing like it maybe should be on the charts. I'm looking at the 50-day SMA around 5017, and it seems to be acting as resistance now, which is a bit worrying for a bullish outlook. I'm wondering if a break below the S2 pivot at 4992 could signal a deeper correction, despite the news. What are your thoughts on how the geopolitical tension might override pure technicals here?
