BTCUSD Feb 20
I'm relatively new to analyzing Bitcoin charts, and I'm trying to understand the significance of the Simple Moving Averages. Currently, the 20-SMA is at 66803.8 and the 50-SMA is at 67025.12. How reliable are these indicators for predicting short-term price movements on BTCUSD? Are there other indicators that should be considered in conjunction with SMAs for a more accurate analysis?

Update: Regarding my question about SMAs, I've noticed that the 200-SMA is significantly higher at 67987.18. Does this mean that the long-term trend is still upward, despite the short-term fluctuations? I'm also looking at the pivot points. The price is above the main pivot at 67219.67, but below R1 at 67487.33. What is a good method to weight these different indicators? I'm using a 15 minute chart for scalping, should I use different SMA periods? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
