Been burned by the news cycle too many times lately. I used to think technicals were everything, but these geopolitical events are throwing wrenches into every setup. Middle East tensions sent the dollar soaring, completely ignoring the oversold RSI on GBPUSD. Now I'm adding a geopolitical risk factor to my trading plan. Gotta stay flexible, folks.

And another thing, I'm also starting to pay closer attention to correlation. GBPUSD often moves inversely to the dollar index (DXY). So if the DXY keeps pushing higher, it's going to be tough for cable to rally. Gotta keep an eye on both charts simultaneously. It's like playing chess, gotta think several moves ahead..

@brandonjackson55 I hear you on the geopolitical stuff messing with technicals. It's tough when you see an RSI divergence on GBPUSD but then news from the Middle East causes a big USD rally. I'm trying to keep an eye on the DXY correlation too, like you mentioned. It feels like a constant battle between chart patterns and these external shocks.
