Checking the XAUUSD weekly chart over the weekend. The close was a bit lower than I expected, just below the 50 SMA. Seems like that resistance around 4760 is still holding strong. I'm watching for any potential gap up on Monday morning due to that Iran news though; could get interesting if it opens above the weekly high. 🤔

Also, the RSI is hanging around 45, which isn't super oversold or overbought, so it doesn't give a strong signal either way right now. If we do see a gap open higher, I'll be looking at the previous pivot point around 4763 as the first hurdle. If that breaks convincingly, then maybe we can push towards 4775.

Thinking more about the risk management piece, Vijay Kumar is absolutely right. Especially with this geopolitical stuff brewing. That news about Iran and the dollar weakening is definitely a factor pushing gold higher lately, and if there's a gap open on Monday, it could really shake things up. I'm trying to set up some alerts for the 20 SMA and the Bollinger Band's upper boundary around 4760-4778. If gold breaks through there with decent volume, I might consider a short-term long position, but I'll be keeping a very tight stop loss just in case it's a fakeout. Remember, last week's close was a bit weak, so you never know how the market will react after the weekend. I'm definitely not going to go all-in, maybe just a small position to test the waters early next week. Don't want to get caught on the wrong side of a gap.

But honestly, these news 'catalysts' like the Iran situation are usually just smoke and mirrors for the smart money to load up or shake out retail. They'll create a gap if they want, then probably fill it to hunt stops. This RSI at 45 is also just noise, doesn't mean anything when they're clearly in control of the price action. I'm not holding my breath for any real move based on headlines alone, this market is rigged.
